Excursion to Athens

The Acropolis in Athens is not in vain considered one of the main attractions of ancient Greece. This hill is a little over 150 meters high, on which is a complex of ancient temples. Initially, the purpose of these temples was to protect the inhabitants of the city from enemy attacks. This is really a powerful and incredibly beautiful place that is worth a visit to everyone who came to Greece.

Not a single tour of Athens will give you as many impressions as a tour with a visit to the Acropolis. At the moment - this place is a territory with many temples, 300 to 130 meters in size, which is actively visited by tourists from different countries.

Despite the fact that only a small part of the Greek “decor” has survived to our time, thanks to modern masters, it is possible to restore the original appearance of the Acropolis so that you can familiarize yourself and learn more details about the Greek culture of that time.
According to legend, the founder of Athens and the Upper City is Kekrops, who was half human and half serpent. It was he who contributed to the appearance of the temples of the Acropolis, which he erected in honor of the goddess of wisdom. Years and centuries passed, temples were destroyed and new ones were built. All this happened exactly until the warlike Persians destroyed all the buildings in the 5th century.

But, after some time, again new temples began to appear on the hill, one more beautiful and more luxurious than the other. And at the foot of the hill theaters "grew up".
Not so long ago, in the 19th century, part of the sculptures from the Acropolis was exported to France and the UK, where they are located to this day.
A tour of Athens with a visit to the Acropolis is an opportunity to touch Ancient Greece, to learn about its culture, which has changed and developed over several centuries.
The Acropolis is a beautiful historical building, which certainly deserves special attention from each tourist. To come to Athens and not visit this place will mean that you were not in Athens at all.
